Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Barbara Penrose

    I was born into a large family. My husband, Tom, and I have been married since 1987. Together, we are raising two wonderful children, Hannah and Richard. Both of my children attend TPS - The District of Choice. I also have two dogs in my family, Sammy and Emma. Sammy is laid back and easy going and Emma is ornery and thinks she is in charge. My family, friends, and God are the most important things in my life. I enjoy playing games with my family and shopping.    
    I have a Bachelors degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from ORU . I recieved a Master's Degree in Counseling from NSU, and a Master's Degree in Administration from Illinois State University.
    In 1987, I began my career with Tulsa Public Schools. I have worked at the Education Service Center as a Special Education Coordinator, as an Assistant Principal and Principal at Gilcrease Middle School, and this is my 6th year at Cooper Elementary as Principal.
    Your children are my focus. I love working with you and your children to work toward a positive change in our community. It takes everyone, parents, students, teachers, administration, and people in the community working together to keep our kids healthy, happy, educated, and safe.
